my name is aly.

I am the human behind this biz! When I talk about HGCC, I often joke that I started it by accident because of how organically it’s grown. I’ve been working in the service industry in NYC since 2015. Over the last 10 years, my service jobs have allowed me to grow my clothing business as an upcycler, reseller, and embroidery artist. I have always loved the camaraderie of working in service and have made an incredible network of friends along the way, many whom I now call family.

It all started in fall 2022, when I reached out to a bar I had done coat check for pre COVID about picking up some shifts that winter. They had just re-opened with a line down the block every weekend. They didn’t have anyone to run the whole coat operation, and they trusted me with the job. I began staffing any shifts I couldn't work, and quickly developed a group of girls who were eager to get involved. I then realized I could pop up this same system at other bars in order to help create more shifts for everyone. When I began to speak to owners and hear about the pains of running a coat check, I knew I was on to something and that there is a true need for a company whose main expertise is coat check and can come in and seamlessly run the operation.

My girls and I named it Hot Girl Coat Check because all my contractors are hard working NYC gals using their coat money to pursue many other passions. We are empowering “Hot Girls” to have an industry opportunity with flexibility to help them follow their dreams-just as my many service jobs have done for me. Being a “Hot Girl” is not about how we look, but about being strong, savvy, smart, multi-faceted women!

We doubled our business in 2024 and are now at 8-10 venues every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday + working with production companies and brands for events and pop-ups. We are eager to keep growing and cannot wait to take on new partnerships in Winter 2025-2026!
